5 amateurs made the cut. Here’s how they finished at the 2026 U.S. Open

The week began with 20 amateurs in the field at the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, and five ended up making the cut.

Among the youngsters who made the weekend include four making their major championship debuts and the No. 1 amateur and No. 1 junior in the world (who happened to be paired together both rounds this weekend). And for the first time since 2018, there is a tie for low am.

Amateurs are always a big part of the U.S. Open. It's not always a guarantee they make the cut, but when they do, it's a fun competition within a competition to see who will be celebrated next to the champion at day's end.
