UFC Vegas 119 Highlights! Beatriz Mesquita Does It Again, Scores Third-Straight Sub

Bia Mesquita punched her ticket to a top 15 ranking earlier tonight (Sat., June 20, 2026) at UFC Vegas 119 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside UFC Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the undefeated women’s bantamweight prospect made easy work out of Melissa Mullins with a first-round submission (armbar).

This was another good matchup for Mesquita as the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace looked to implement her grappling early and often. Mullins is more known for her striking so it was going to be a struggle for the English fighter to ward off Mesquita’s advancements in the early going.

Unfortunately for Mullins, she wasn’t able to put Mesquita away after rocking her pretty badly early into the first round. Mesquita somehow recovered and then locked up a tight armbar just a few minutes later. Mullins only had a few seconds to defend, but it was too late. Mesquita earned the easy tap and walked off with her third-straight submission finish since entering UFC back in Oct. 2025.

Mesquita, 30, pushes her pro MMA record to 8-0 with Saturday’s victory and should have a number next to her name when UFC’s updated divisional rankings come out next week. It’s a bit surprising to see the lack of buzz around Mesquita considering her dominance in a contender-hungry weight class, but she’ll have more opportunities to prove she’s a legit contender.
