Who are the players the Bucks are receiving from Heat in Giannis trade package?

For the better part of a year, team sources have told the Journal Sentinel that should the Milwaukee Bucks trade superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, the goal was to acquire volume in players and draft picks.

In a deal with Miami that was agreed to on June 22, but will not be made official until the new league year begins on July 6, the Bucks appear to have done exactly that. (Note: Because of the amount of time before the league year begins, it is possible more players and picks are added onto the trade.)

Heat receive

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Antetokounmpo, who will be 32 years old in December, is one of the top 75 players in the history of the NBA. He is a two-time league MVP, an NBA Finals MVP, an NBA Cup MVP and a Defensive Player of the Year. One of the most dominant players in the league, Antetokounmpo is coming off an injury-plagued year that limited him to just 36 games in 2025-26. Since becoming an all-NBA player in 2017-18, he has averaged 28.4 points, 11.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

Antetokounmpo is eligible for a $275 million maximum extension.

Bobby Portis Jr.

The unofficial "Mayor of Milwaukee," Portis will turn 32 years old in February. The forward signed with the Bucks in 2020-21 and helped the team win the title that season. In his six-year career in Milwaukee, Portis finished third in the Sixth Man of the Year voting twice (2023 and 2024) and averaged 13.6 points and 8.0 rebounds while developing into a 40.9% shooter from behind the 3-point line.

Bucks receive

Tyler Herro

The Greenfield native made an all-star team in the 2024-25 season and was the 2021-22 Sixth Man of the Year. Herro, a 6-foot, 5-inch shooting guard, has averaged 21.4 points per game on 38.4% 3-point shooting since the 2021-22 season. Herro will turn 27 in January. He is eligible to sign a three-year extension worth up to $149 million.

Jaime Jaquez Jr.

Jacquez, who will turn 26 in February, was the runner-up in Sixth Man of the Year voting last season after averaging 15.4 points and 5.0 rebounds. In his three seasons with the Heat, the 6-6 forward has started 38 times in his 218 appearances and averaged 12.1 points per game. Jacquez is eligible for a five-year, $255 million extension – though a league source told the Journal Sentinel he will not command that amount.

Kel'El Ware

The 7-footer was the No. 15 pick in the 2024 draft and just turned 22 years old in April. He started 34 of 77 games last season and averaged 11.1 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. He also shot 39% from behind the 3-point line on limited volume (3.0 attempts per game).

The 6-5 guard was the No. 20 pick in the 2025 draft and appeared in 53 games last season. He shot 42.3% from behind the 3-point line on low volume (2.9 attempts per game). Jakučionis just turned 20 years old in May.
