Austin Hill wins NASCAR O'Reilly Series race at San Diego in June 2026

The NASCAR O'Reilly Series competed in San Diego, and it was a chaotic event. There were two long red flags after a manhole cover destroyed Corey Day's radiator and Sam Mayer's big wreck damaged the wall. It came down to Carson Kvapil and Taylor Gray battling for the lead; however, the evening went in a stunning direction.

Austin Hill and the No. 21 team for Richard Childress Racing won Saturday evening's race in San Diego, earning their second victory of the 2026 O'Reilly Series season. After Gray dumped Kvapil, Hill was able to get behind the No. 54 car. Instead of spinning him out, the Richard Childress Racing driver moved him out of the way for the victory.

It was an emotional scene as Hill and Richard Childress paid tribute to the late Kyle Busch in victory lane. The driver of the No. 21 car was fast throughout the race, but found a different gear in the closing laps. Hill and Childress both honored Busch, as the No. 21 team took home an emotional win on Saturday.
