The Chicago Bulls were once again among the worst teams in the Eastern Conference in 2025, but the play of point guard Josh Giddey did produce some excitement in an overall dreadful season.

Due to injuries, Giddey played in just 54 games, but he was incredibly productive when on the court, averaging 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists per game.
Since arriving in Chicago in the 2024 offseason after being traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder, Giddey has developed into a valuable player for the Bulls, as his playmaking abilities and improved three-point shot have taken his game to another level. As a result, the 23-year-old is receiving trade interest from two contenders in the Western Conference looking to pair their backcourt stars with another dynamic guard.
Suns and Timberwolves interested in Giddey trade
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves have shown interest in trading for Giddey.

"The Suns have also done some background on Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey, HoopsHype has learned. According to Darren Wolfson, Minnesota recently expressed interest in Josh Giddey, which was confirmed by HoopsHype," Scotto wrote.
The Suns and Timberwolves were both playoff teams in 2025, but neither was able to make a deep run. Phoenix was swept in Round 1 by OKC, while Minnesota fell to the San Antonio Spurs in a tough six games in Round 2.
However, both franchises have legitimate opportunities to fill out their rosters this offseason in hopes of being back in the contender mix in the West, and Giddey is an intriguing trade option.
Pairing Giddey with Devin Booker would give the Suns a versatile backcourt capable of producing fireworks on offense. However, neither is a world-class defender, but that can be made up for, especially with an All-Defensive player like Dillon Brooks in the starting lineup.

Though Giddey and Booker would be an exciting duo, Giddey and Anthony Edwards would make much more sense. Edwards would be able to pick up Giddey's limitations on defense, and on the offensive side of the ball, the Timberwolves would have a backcourt that brings elite playmaking and isolation scoring.
We'll see whether Chicago even entertains trading Giddey, but if they do, Phoenix and Minnesota would be logical landing spots for the ascending guard who could contribute valuable minutes to a contender.
